Can I use your art on my webpage?
Yes, if it is a non-profit page, and if you follow a few simple requests I have:

  • Please please PLEASE read the image descriptions, and if it says the image is copyrighted to a third party, you cannot use that art without contacting the copyright holder. Do not ask me about these images, or about how to contact the copyright holder. You can either follow the links I have, or look them up on the internet yourself.

  • Don't make any modifications to the image other than proportional resizing. Read that line again. PROPORTIONAL! Sorry, but so many people don't seem to understand that, no matter now many times I say it, and seeing my art squished into all kinds of odd sizes is terribly disturbing. So if you use the art, don't squish it so it's fat or skinny or whatever. It's meant to be a certain size. Keep it that way.

  • Don't link directly to the images on my site. This takes my bandwidth and slows it down for viewers on your site as well. Instead, right click and copy to your hard drive and upload it to your own server.

  • You must have a "©Stephanie Pui-Mun Law" on any page you display my art. UNLESS the image description on Shadowscapes indicates there is a copyright to a third party involved. In which case, please respect their copyrights and indicate such, along with an "art by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law" in your credits.

  • Lastly...I don't require this, but it makes for a very grateful and happy artist if you choose to place a link back to my galleries from your site. You can link to http://www.shadowscapes.com. If you want to use banners, feel free to -use any of these-.

Painting keeps me fairly busy, but I do try to answer e-mail inquiries as promptly and thoroughly as possible. Comments and questions are always very much appreciated, but two common inquiries are pre-answered below:

1) It is permissible to showcase some of my work on your personal, non-commercial website - as themesets, stationery, signature tags, miscellaneous web-graphics, etc. - only if you agree to establish a link to my web-site and provide a full and prominent artwork credit that must appear with or on the image:

What is your Usage Policy for images on this site?
Simply stated, Amy's art on this site cannot be modified or reproduced in any way. An image may only be removed and displayed in a personal gallery outside this site if it remains unaltered in any way, including all credit and url information that is currently present on the image, and if it is in a non-commercial environment. As well, please state that the images may not be removed from your site. A maximum of 20 images may be placed on fan-type sites only.

Permission will *not* be given for stationery, invitations, signatures, tags, banners, web sets, psp tubes, skins, or any of the other hundreds of ways the art might be used. Each image may only be displayed just like it is now shown in the galleries on this site - in its complete and unedited form. Click HERE to see an example of proper usage. When images are posted on-line without copyright information it can cause a great deal of trouble. If other people see that image with no copyright information included they unfortunately might assume they are free to use the image for any purpose they wish, for instance putting it on T-shirts and selling them, while not realizing that they are illegally using a copyrighted image. Please help us avoid the spread of this type of problem by respecting Amy’s copyrights and following the usage policy guidelines. In some cases permission may have been given long ago to someone to use images for certain things but those allowances have expired if that type of use now violates the current usage policy.
Can I display your image(s) on my site/gallery/virtual world?

You are free to display images from the Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Surreal, Space and Abstract galleries (for viewing purposes only, nothing commercial) under the following conditions:

    • my work may not be modified in ANY way (no logos, other writings on top or cutting out, etc)
    • credits must be mentioned
    • a link to this site must be present near the image
    • when used in virtual worlds the art.eonworks.com sign must be clearly readable

Also, please keep in mind that all my work is copyright protected. For other use of my images please email me and describe what for, where, when and how you intend to use my artwork. Feel free to use these banners when linking back to me.
